Day 1 ....in a nut shell

So it was a day ....
Play group with Aiden's friends from school at our neighborhood park. Cut short by very ugly weather. WW meeting, healthy (eh sort of) lunch, kohls for new shoes (to walk and exercise in) home for a nap, followed by a very unhealthy dinner. But hey it was cold and I already had all the stuff for baked potato soup.
Here's to hoping tomorrow is a more productive and better eating day.

New Chapter begins tomorrow......

So after already think about what this "new chapter" may be....NO I am not pregnant or will be getting pregnant anytime soon. HA...First things first. I NEED to get healthy.

I have battled weight all my life. I mean as a kid I was not over weight but not thin. In middle school and high school I was in volleyball and then in softball.
So I was active and was able to be at a good weight that I was ok with it.
Once I graduated high school the freshmen 15 quickly became the freshmen 50! And before I knew it in 3 years I went from 120s to180! I was in shock when looking back at pictures that I was that size. I was happy and living life and eating my way through it.
After a beach trip with my family to S. Padre it became clear to me and my family that something needed to be done! My mom (already a normal size) and I went to weight watchers. I started there in August at 179 and the first week I lost 4 lbs! I was amazed and in shock that it worked!
The next week it was 3 and then 2 and it just kept coming off. Of course there were weeks where I maintained or even gained an oz or lb or 2. BUT I made it through and by that spring I was 130s! Just in time for my 21st bday. That summer I moved in with my best friend, Kathleen and we were so busy with life, work, babysitting jobs, college and KICK BOXING. I was able to be a tad more flexible in what I ate and was in GREAT shape.
In 2007 I got married - 130ish lbs
In 2008 I had Aiden
In 2012 I had Preston
And basically have weighed the same ever since I had my first born.
So in the 4 years I have tried ww again, I guess I wasn't serious enough to want to do it and see it work.
Then I tried to detox and do a fruit/veggie smoothie diet, 5 days straight and I thought I was going to die, lol.

So no, why now? I am ready! Ready to be excited to go shopping (I dread it now), ready to want to be and take pictures (right now I barely have pictures and if I do it's just of my face) and ready to be healthy and have energy.

One month till family portraits, and would love for my clothes to fit better.
6 weeks till FB weight loss challenge is over (starts tomorrow and $ is involved)
8 months to loose 50 lbs to be ready for summer and more $$$$ from another incentive program :-) (my mom)

So today I had a wendys meal (VERY bad and high in calories) as my last "BIG and BAD" for me meal. First few weeks will be tough and hard to get use to the smaller portions and making better choices. But it's not like I don't know what to do or how to do it. The fun part is that my sister and best friend are doing ww too!!
I weigh in tomorrow at noon and then it BEGINS !
I will update on here with my weigh ins and what I eat and what activity I do.
Wish me luck :-)

Things that make me smile.....

So been super busy lately, but the good kinda of busy. I wanted to share some things that make me happy and smile......

1. My family
(this was our last and not best family picture, we will be taking our holiday pictures in November)

2. My church
Pretty big but home to me. Down to earth, great people, groups, and powerful services. I have been enjoying MOPS there this year and our oldest has been enjoying kids choir every Wednesday.

3. Shopping for gifts for others

I usually try to buy homemade or from small businesses but I can' help myself when its a girl baby shower or birthday party to buy a sweet outfit and Crazy 8 is a favorite store I like to go to. Awesome prices and even better with a coupon and its 5 minutes from my house.

4. Target
I mean who doesn't love this store? Also 5 minutes from my house. I tend to go there about 2-4x a week because it's closer to us than the grocery store and well because it's just plain fun to walk around there and browse all the cute things there.

5. A good week night TV show
Just one of my FAV TV shows and I LOVE it.

6. Pinterest

Nothing better than wasting a good hour or two pinning great ideas, crafts, recipes and more. Follow me here

7. YouTube

Especially this sweet video of Katy Perry singing with a little girl with Autism. It is a tear jerker for sure. You must watch it here.

I would go on and on about more favorites and things that make me smile BUT the boys are fighting over trains and we have a birthday party to rush off to. :-) Gotta love kids and busy weekends.

Pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch

I have gone every year to the pumpkin patch since Aiden was born.
Looking back.....

Our first trip to the pumpkin patch, Aiden my butterball was almost 5 months old and couldn't sit up yet, so we took his little bebe pod chair. He was a good baby for us and me and my husband had fun snapping pictures that Sunday am at a church pumpkin patch while the service was going on.

Then the next year Aiden was almost 1 and half and a very busy boy, who didn't like to sit still or give us smiles much.

The following year he was 2 and half and was funny about taking pictures. I was sure I wasn't going to get any good pictures of him but much to my surprise he did very good for me and had fun too. I took him alone this year, because I thought I could get better pictures of him.

Last year we ventured out to the same patch as the year before and this time I asked my friend Aydee to go with us to help me take pictures, Preston wasn't even 2 months old yet. (I like to go on the week day to avoid the weekend crowds)

And now this year with a 13 month old and an almost 4 year old it was a tad different, lol. I asked my friend Aydee to come with us again (her 2 boys are in high school and college, so she adores doing fun kid stuff with me and my boys). Aiden was SO excited to go see and pick out pumpkins. He is great about smiling when asked and helps with his baby brother. Preston on the other hand isn't walking yet, so he wanted to crawl or be walked (hold on to your finger) at the patch. We were the only ones there, thank goodness. We got 2 pretty good size pumpkins and 2 mini baby pumpkins.

HAHA, I love this picture...that's Aiden's "Cheeeeeeese" smile and Preston's fake/cheese ball smile.

We stuck Preston in this wagon so we could take a picture of Aiden in the Scarecrow cut out.

Aiden was being lifted up here by Miz Aydee so I could take the picture :-) Love this kid.

This is Prestons "why are you dancing around like a nut behind my mommy Miz Aydee" face. He was so not amused. LOL, I am sure the kids at the near by playground were, though.

My picture with the boys, its about as good as it gets with my humid hair, Aiden's sweet smile and Preston's "really, are we done yet? Bc I am!!" face.

Happy boy, this is what he wanted to do. Walk.

We tried again, and nope, Preston is NOT having it.
Poor baby.

Aiden LOVED all the pumpkins, so very much.

Walking again and taking it all in.

One last attempt......oh for the love, I give up!

The best pictures I thought. I am always happy as long as I get one good picture
of each boy and one good one of them together.

Happy Fall Ya'll.
